The Ukrainian president said that he was ready for any format of negotiations with Russia and the USA.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky says Kiev is ready for any format of meeting with Russia and the United States. He adds that territorial issues can be solved only by a personal meeting with Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin.
Zelensky points out that Ukraine would like to see Europe at a certain stage of negotiations, as EU membership and the Coalition of the willing are part of security guarantees. The head of state said this in an interview with the Czech publication Český rozhlas Plus.
"First of all, we need to meet the three of us (Ukraine, Russia and the United States - ed.). Well, at least we should have contact with the Russian Federation, with the leader of Russia. Without such a format, in my opinion, our teams will not be able to agree on territorial issues," Zelensky added.
The head of state notes that the negotiations are now at the "last mile" stage, where it is impossible to say whether they will work out well or not. Zelensky points out that the agreements on security guarantees with the EU are already "almost ready."
"Yes, I have heard that some politicians have proposed such a thing [exchange of Donbass territories for security guarantees - ed]. I have not heard directly from President Trump, and this is his security guarantees and the US Congress. That is, I understand that there is a price of security guarantees from the US. The question [is] this price," the head of state said.
