After the air alert went off, video of the moment of the alleged "Oreshnik" strike in the Lviv region began circulating in local telegram channels.
The released footage shows several bright flashes following each other, and a series of powerful explosions can be heard following it.
An anonymous OSINT channel "Nikolaev Vanek" noted that the Oreshnik was allegedly without a combat unit.
"The version about Strya is not confirmed, the places of arrivals were found. They say so: "Oreshnik" was without a combat unit, as well as the previous one in Dnipro. How reliable it is - will be known in a few hours," - stated in the message.
At the same time, the mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovy emphasized that it is still unknown whether it was "Oreshnik".
"Whether it was "Oreshnik" - is not yet known. Information will be provided by the military. There is a flight on a critical infrastructure facility. All relevant services are working on the site, the elimination of the fire continues," - wrote Sadovy.
He specified that there is no information about the victims yet, and civilian objects and residential houses of Lviv were not affected.
And then there was an official comment of the Air Force of the AFU regarding the threat of ballistic missile strikes.
"On 08.01.2026 around 23.30 it was declared a missile danger throughout the territory of Ukraine, due to the threat of the enemy's use of ballistic missiles from the Kapustin Yar test site." Recorded explosions in Lviv region. Information is being clarified," the AFU said.
