Russia Hits Krivoy Rog With Iskanders

Twenty-nine high-rise buildings were damaged.

The military of the aggressor countries of the Russian Federation on the evening of January 8 hit the civilian infrastructure of Kryvyi Rih with ballistics. This was reported by the regional prosecutor's office on Facebook.

According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko in Telegram, the Russians hit two Iskanders on apartment buildings in Krivoy Rog. As of 7:55 p.m., at least 13 casualties were known.

"The enemy has been continuously attacking the city for several days in a row. Yesterday, the Russians launched one of the biggest attacks on Krivoy Rog since the beginning of the full-scale invasion," the head of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers wrote.

The photos published by Sviridenko show fires in apartments and a high-rise building actually chopped in half.

The head of the Krivoy Rog defense council, Oleksandr Vilkul, said a combined missile and drone attack on the city took place in the evening.

"Two Iskander-Ms hit a residential sector. There are already 17 victims of the enemy shelling. Among them are three children and eight women. There are 15 wounded in the city's hospitals. One person is in a serious condition, another in extremely serious condition. The rest - in a condition of medium severity," Vilkul told Telegram.

A total of 29 multi-story houses were damaged as a result of the Russian attack, a dozen of them very seriously, and one of the houses was actually destroyed.

"Up to 10 business facilities and cars were also damaged. In addition to residential buildings, infrastructure has been hit. At the moment 115,823 subscribers are disconnected from electricity, while 161,000 were disconnected half an hour ago - 45,177 were switched to other lines," Vilkul said.

Talking about supplying Krivoy Rog with water, Vilkul noted that "half of the city is on generators."

"We are holding the system, but the pressure will be lower. There are four large boiler houses without electricity - this is about 1400 houses," he emphasized.
