The efforts of the "coalition of the willing" will be backed by robust U.S. support.
Belgium will contribute its air force and navy to keep the peace in Ukraine after the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The arrangements were discussed during a meeting of a "coalition of the willing" in Paris, announced Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever.
"Together with a broad coalition of partners, Belgium will assume its share of the international effort to keep peace in Ukraine after the end of the war," Wever wrote.
He said Belgium's participation will focus on areas where it has the necessary capabilities.
"Our contribution will focus in particular on providing air and maritime forces and training where Belgium can make a concrete and significant contribution," Wever said.
He also emphasized that the efforts of the "coalition of the willing" will be backed by robust U.S. support, with future monitoring of the security situation planned to be led by Washington. This should ensure effective deterrence of Russia from repeated aggression and contribute to long-term stability in the region.
