This could indicate the preparation of a large-scale operation.

The British airbase RAF Fairford recorded the deployment of units and rare weapons of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment of the US Army, as well as Delta Force and SEAL Team 6 fighters. Together with them there arrived "flying batteries" AC-130J Ghostrider and unique helicopters MH-47G Chinook.

This may indicate the preparation of a large-scale operation. This is reported by Defence Express.

What is known about the deployment of US special forces in Britain?"

Since January 3, the UK has seen atypical US military transport aircraft activity. C-17A Globemaster III aircraft have been making regular flights to RAF Fairford Air Base, located in southern England near Swindon.

A total of more than a dozen transport aircraft have landed at the base, with at least two AC-130J Ghostrider and a CV-22 Osprey convertible remaining. In parallel, P-8 Poseidon patrol aircraft were deployed to Mildenhall Air Base in the east. Later, an MH-47G Chinook was spotted in British airspace, a version that is in service exclusively with US special operations forces.

This concentration of forces attracted the attention of the Western media. The Aviationist has gathered detailed information and concluded that units of the 160th Special Operations Air Regiment have been transferred to the UK with at least two MH-47G Chinook and five MH-60M Black Hawk.

This particular unit recently participated in Operation Absolute Resolve, during which Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was captured. In addition, there are indications that two more elite US special forces were involved.

In particular, one of the C-17 aircraft flew the NAS Oceana - Pope Air Force Base - RAF Fairford route. The first base is home to the US Navy's SEAL Team 6 (its fighters eliminated Osama bin Laden), while the second is home to the Special Operations Forces Command and Delta's 1st Operations Detachment. This may indicate that the fighters of these units are also in Britain.

According to the American TV channel CBS, the Pentagon is considering an operation to intercept the sub-sanctioned tanker Bella 1. This vessel on December 21 tried to stop the U.S. Coast Guard, after which it raised the Russian flag, and on December 30 changed its name to Marinera and is now in the northern part of the Atlantic.

Based on the deployment of special forces, including naval specialists, as well as additional patrol aircraft, Aviationist suggests that the U.S. is preparing to seize the Marinera (Bella 1).

At the same time, Defense Express notes that the scale of forces involved seems excessive for an operation against a single tanker, even if it has guards or carries weapons. Therefore, it is not excluded that we may be talking about a series of actions against the so-called "shadow fleet", or about a ship that carries a cargo far from the declared oil. The version about a completely different sphere of actions also remains open.
