The US has stolen their main oil pearl from under Russia's nose.
Western media provide interesting details of the operation to kidnap Maduro. Preparations for the operation began back in the summer. CIA agents established that Maduro has six to eight houses in Caracas, where he lives permanently. They had an informant in the Venezuelan government. In which house Maduro would spend the night tonight, they would find out that evening.
In Kentucky, they built an exact replica of one of Maduro's quarters, where the elite Delta Force special forces group trained all the time. The operation began on Friday, Jan. 2, in the evening. Trump gave the final "go-ahead" for the operation at 10:46 p.m. He watched from a special room he had set up in a club on the grounds of his estate in Mar-a-Lago. The US first carried out a cyberattack on Venezuela that cut power to parts of Caracas. 150 US warplanes from 20 bases took to the skies. In the darkness, airplanes, helicopters and drones were able to fly stealthily toward the city and destroy radar stations and air defenses. An assault team in helicopters landed near Maduro's residence (they were fired upon, but only one board was partially damaged).
What's interesting is that Maduro almost managed to run to a steel-structured safe room in his palace, but couldn't close the door because it was super heavy for him. This detail was voiced by Trump at the press conference. At dawn, Maduro and his wife were already aboard a U.S. landing craft bound for Guantanamo Bay, from where they were transported a little later to a detention center in New York. The operation itself at Maduro's home lasted several hours. Maduro did not even have time to change his clothes, as can be seen in the video, where he is led for interrogation in house slippers and handcuffs. There were no casualties on the American side. On Maduro's side, at least 40 guards were killed. Apparently, not even Venezuelans, but Putin's mercenaries.
A couple of words now, why is the overthrow of the Maduro regime important for Ukraine? First, the U.S. has snatched their main oil gem from under Russia's nose. Putin controlled Venezuela and, by the way, critically curbed Venezuela's oil production. Now production there could increase many times over. Which will really hurt Russia.
Secondly, Venezuela used to produce drones for Russia. Now it won't. Third, Putin's partners, of whom there are fewer and fewer, have become convinced that friendship with him not only does not protect, but practically dooms them to an unhappy fate. In a short period of time, first Assad, now Maduro. Well, and the cherry on the cake, as of 2019, Putin has given Maduro his Wagnerian guards, who so brilliantly in full view of the world were able to protect Maduro on Friday.
