Senator Graham Confirms That The U.S. Offered Maduro To Go To Turkey

But the dictator decided to challenge Trump.

Senator Lindsey Graham has said that Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro could have gone to Turkey but refused such an offer.

He said this on board US President Donald Trump's plane, BBC reports.

He believes it would have been more appropriate for Maduro to accept the US offer to leave for Turkey.

"He decided to defy Trump and the US military, and now his ass is in jail," Senator Graham said.

The New York Times previously wrote that on December 23, US authorities offered Maduro to leave office and go to Turkey, but he did not agree.
