The head of the Kremlin lied.
US President Donald Trump announced that he does not believe in the version about Ukraine's involvement in the attack on Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin's residence in Russia's Novgorod region.
While speaking to reporters, Trump was reminded of his earlier words in which he said he was "very angry" with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in case it was the latter who organized the strike on Putin's residence. In response, the White House head emphasized that he did not believe this information was accurate.
"I don't believe this strike was even carried out," Trump said.
The journalists also pointed out that it was Vladimir Putin who informed him about the attack. In this regard, they asked why Trump then believed the Russian leader's words and voiced this information publicly during a joint speech with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
Answering the question, the US president explained:
"Because at that time nobody knew anything. I heard about it for the first time at that very time. He said his house was attacked. Now that we've been able to verify it, we don't believe it happened. But at the time, that was the first information we had," Trump noted.
