Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said he is ready to support the nomination of Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if the US president can ensure a "just peace" in Ukraine. He said this at a joint press conference in Warsaw with his Luxembourg counterpart Xavier Bettel, TVP World reported.
Sikorski stressed that if such a peace is achieved, Trump deserves appropriate recognition. The minister added that he would personally sign a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize if it happens.
The Luxembourg minister agreed with Sikorski. He said a support committee could be established if a peace settlement is reached.
The media reported that the initiative to have Trump recognized by the Nobel committee was started by Mike Johnson, speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, and Amir Ohana, speaker of Israel's Knesset.
