EU Lists Iran's IRGC As A Terrorist Organization

This was stated by the head of EU diplomacy Kaja Kallas.

The European Union has placed Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the list of terrorist organizations. The announcement was made by EU diplomatic chief Kaja Kallas in her X social media account.

"EU foreign ministers have just taken the decisive step of declaring Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization," the diplomat wrote.

On January 29, the European Union reached an agreement to impose additional sanctions measures against Iran. The restrictions target individuals and entities the EU believes are responsible for the crackdown on recent protests.

The protests, which have engulfed Iran since late December 2025, were triggered by a sharp fall in the value of the national currency, the Iranian rial.
