Probably talking about weather probes.
On the night of January 28, the Polish military recorded a violation of the country's airspace by Belarus. As reported by the Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Poland on January 29, several objects crossed the border.
It is reported that their flight was "continuously monitored by military radar systems of the Polish Armed Forces." A ban on civil aviation flights was temporarily imposed in the Podlasie Voivodeship. The military department stressed that all the measures taken were "preventive in nature".
According to preliminary data, meteoprobes carrying smuggled cigarettes could have crossed the border.
"On the basis of the analyses carried out, including flight characteristics, speed and direction of movement of objects, it was concluded that most likely these were balloon-type objects moving in accordance with meteorological conditions. No threat to the safety of the airspace of the Republic of Poland has been recorded," the Operational Command said in a statement.
The Polish side assesses the launch of such meteosondes as "actions of a hybrid nature that Poland is facing in the eastern direction."
