The S&P 500 Index Has Hit An All-time High

Amid easing concerns over Greenland.

On Wednesday, January 28, the S&P 500 index added 0.34% and reached 7002.52 points at its peak - a new record. Above the round mark of 7000 points benchmark rose for the first time in history. As Financial Times notes, the rise came amid a recovery in stocks after a sell-off triggered by the crisis over Greenland, and investors turned their attention back to corporate earnings.

The NASDAQ Composite index rose 0.71% on Wednesday to a high of 23,988.27 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average index added 0.29% and was up to 49,150.34 points at its high.

"The S&P 500 just hit the 7,000 mark for the first time in history. AMERICA RETURNED!!!," US President Donald Trump wrote in his Truth Social.

Investors have turned their attention back to the reporting season, which analysts predict will be strong. This week, major technology companies Microsoft, Tesla, Apple and Meta (its activities are recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) will publish their financial results.
