Balloons With Smuggled Cigarettes Continue To Fly Into Lithuania

January 26, Lithuanian State Border Guard Service under the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported about the interception of five weather probes and one drone, which arrived from the territory of Belarus between January 24 and 25.

According to the agency, the weather probes contained a total of about 20 thousand packs of cigarettes. A batch of one thousand packs of cigarettes of "NZ Gold" brand with Belarusian excise stamps was attached to the intercepted drone. The value of these tobacco products, including all taxes payable in Lithuania, is estimated at about 5 thousand euros.

Investigations have been launched into all the identified facts.
