Reza Pahlavi has called on Iranian protesters to take over the country's government by force.
The son of the 1979 deposed Shah Reza Pahlavi said on Fox News that he is ready to return to Iran.
"I am ready to return to Iran at the first opportunity. I am already planning it," Pahlavi noted.
He added that he has received offers to lead a "transition period" and has also expressed readiness to do so.
Before that, Pahlavi called on protesting Iranians to take power in the country by force.
He also called on Iranian residents, especially workers in key sectors of the economy, to join a general strike.
Reza Pahlavi, who lives in the US and whose father left Iran in 1979 after the Islamic Revolution, added that he would like to return to his homeland to be near his compatriots at a crucial moment.
In late December, protests broke out in Iran amid the devaluation of the local currency. The largest actions are taking place in Tehran, and the most violent clashes were recorded in the west and southwest (the cities of Malekshahi, Kermanshah, Lordegan).
