The Ukrainian Armed Forces Launched A Counteroffensive On The Donetsk Direction

Zelensky revealed the details.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has said that in recent weeks the Ukrainian army has been conducting a successful counter-offensive operation in the Donetsk direction, writes Ukrainska Pravda.

According to the Ukrainian leader, the main fighting is taking place near Pokrovsk and Dobropillya. Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the fighting is heavy, but the Ukrainian troops managed to inflict significant losses on the Russian forces.

The Ukrainian president stressed that the defense forces deprive the occupiers of the opportunity to carry out a full-scale offensive, which they have long planned.

Since the beginning of the counter-offensive, Ukrainian troops, according to Zelensky, have already liberated 160 km² of territory, seven settlements, and another 170 km² and nine settlements "cleared of the occupiers."

He also said that Ukraine has significantly replenished its exchange fund - almost a hundred Russian prisoners of war have been added to it, and the number will increase further.

Russian losses, according to Zelensky, have amounted to more than 2,500 people in the Pokrovsk area alone in recent weeks, of whom more than 1,300 have been killed.
