Putin Has Destroyed The Entire System

Poland expects to gain access to nuclear weapons.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki said his country expects to have access to the nuclear weapons of NATO allies.

"Poland should participate in the joint use of nuclear weapons. It must have its own nuclear capabilities - energy, civilian and military. The partnership between France and Poland is about just that," said Nawrocki. He declined to answer a question about whether Poland planned to have its own nuclear weapons, saying it was "too early to talk about it."

This was predictable - and not just as a result of the recent Russian drone incursion. Putin destroyed the entire nuclear nonproliferation system by attacking Ukraine, a state that voluntarily gave up its arsenal. The West's response, while coming to Kiev's aid, has also been inadequate, including during the occupation of Crimea.

Logically, nuclear weapons have since been seriously considered by states with the relevant capabilities. Those who wish can familiarize themselves with the list of countries that had or have specialized developments - from Taiwan to Sweden. Further escalation of the war will only accelerate these processes.
