Bild revealed the details.
F-35 pilots used expensive missiles at 400 thousand euros apiece when shooting down Russian drones in Polish airspace.
This is reported by Bild.
The publication's experts note that modern F-35 aircraft in the fight against cheap drones "make no sense." The fighter pilots attacked the drones with AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles, each of which costs more than 400,000 euros. Meanwhile, the Russian Federation's drones cost only a few thousand euros.
"In the long term, it makes no military sense to use the F-35 against drones. Therefore, the alliance is considering various options to counter Russian provocations," said a senior NATO officer.
We would like to recall that on the night of September 10, Russia fired 19 attack drones at the territory of Poland.
