Moscow Has A Very Weak Position Right Now
Steve Whitkoff in Moscow

Ukraine is waiting for new weapons.

The talks of the US special representative Steve Whitkoff in the Kremlin lasted three hours. We don't know much about the results of the meeting yet, but there is no doubt that Moscow tried to hang all the pasta from its stockpiles on Whitkoff's ears in order to delay the imposition of sanctions and arms supplies to Ukraine.

It is likely that Moscow once again lied about readiness for negotiations, the possibility of an "air truce" and something else. As of now, we have to "hold our fists" so that Trump does not believe this manipulative rhetoric.

The negotiating position of the Muscovites is quite weak and the Ukrainian Defense Forces have a lot of merit in this: last week we practically stopped the Russians in all directions. For the sake of objectivity, we have to admit that the enemy had some minor tactical achievements during the last two months, but they are not comparable to the losses. Many Russian attacks have failed, and against this background we can talk about the overall failure of the summer offensive.

Another factor indicative of Moscow's weakness: the Russian economy is extremely vulnerable today, with Russian federal budget revenues from oil and gas in July 2025 compared to July 2024 down 27%. It is a very opportune moment to finally break up the gas station called "Russian Federation".

The defense forces, for their part, are doing their best to speed up this process. Ukrainian drones hit an oil depot in Berdyansk this morning. After the attack of Ukrainian drones, the Ryazan oil refinery stopped the operation of two units (now the enterprise is functioning at only 48% of full capacity).

If, in parallel with the imposition of sanctions, the United States gives Ukraine cruise missiles JASSM-ER, as well as JSOW-ER with a range of 550 kilometers, there will be little left of Russia's oil industry. Let me remind you that the possibility of supplying these and other means was discussed back when Ukraine didn't even have F-16s. We hope that the Western world will stop procrastinating under the influence of endless Kremlin manipulations.

We are waiting for weapons, in particular Tomahawk, we believe in fruitful cooperation between Ukrainian and Western developers of interceptor drones. And most importantly - we believe in ourselves, in our holy cause. Let's keep working. Glory to Ukraine!
