Belarusians Are Eating Up Their Currency Stash

And companies are buying up the dollar.

The situation in the Belarusian foreign exchange market did not change much in July compared with June. Belarusians continued to sell more foreign currency than to buy it. Companies remained net buyers. At the same time, the difference between the purchase and sale of foreign currency by businesses decreased. This follows from the fresh statistics of the National Bank, writes officelife.media.

In July, Belarusians continued to sell foreign currency more actively than to buy. Thus, last month, individuals sold $1.347 billion worth of currency, while bought - $1.151 billion. As a result, net sale amounted to $196.3 million.

In total, Belarusians sold $8.034 billion in seven months of 2025, while bought $7.188 billion. Net sale of currency by individuals amounted to more than $846 million.

As for the enterprises, they traditionally continued to buy foreign currency. At the same time, the difference between its purchase and sale in July decreased.

So, last month, companies bought $3.454 billion worth of currency, and sold - $3.388 billion. As a result, the difference amounted to only $66.2 million.

Total for January - July, companies bought $20.900 billion worth of currency, and sold - $19.712 billion.
