US President Donald Trump is considering pulling out of talks on Russia's war against Ukraine. He wants the sides to show more "flexibility," Axios reported.

A senior White House official told Axios that Trump is seriously considering abandoning diplomatic efforts until "one or both sides start showing more flexibility."

"We're going to sit back and watch. Let them fight for a while and then we'll see what happens," the official said.

The publication's sources said the White House believes European leaders are pushing Ukraine to wait for a "better deal."

American officials believe British and French officials are more constructive. But they complain that other major European countries want "the United States to bear all the costs of the war without contributing a penny itself."
