In Lviv today around 12 noon, August 30, the former speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy was killed in a shooting.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Telegram of the National Police of Ukraine and sources in law enforcement agencies.
According to police, today, around noon, 102 received a report of shooting in the Frankivsky district of Lviv. As a result of the injuries received, the victim died on the spot. It is established that the deceased - a well-known public and political figure born in 1971.
Pravozhranitelnye take all measures to establish the identity of the shooter and the place of his location. All details will be disclosed in the order and scope provided by the criminal procedural legislation.
According to the head of Lviv Regional State Administration Maksym Kozitsky, in Lviv region are looking for the shooter who killed the former chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy. According to him, all specialized services are involved. It is reported that the victim died before the arrival of medics.
OBOZ.UA sources in law enforcement agencies reported that the killer was a courier who fired five shots.
RBC-Ukraine sources said that 7 shell casings were found at the scene of the murder, the killer was tentatively in the form of a courier.
"Ukraine's Interior Minister Igor Klimenko and Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko have just reported the first known circumstances of a horrific murder in Lviv. Andriy Parubiy has died. My condolences to the family and friends," - said the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
According to him, all necessary forces and means are involved in the investigation and search for the killer.
The Mayor of Lviv addressed journalists in connection with the murder of Parubiy
"I ask journalists with understanding and do not ask for additional comments. Now law enforcers should work and comment," said Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy.
He also emphasized that today the most important thing is for law enforcement agencies to find the killer and establish all the circumstances. This is a matter of security in a warring country, where, as we see, there are no absolutely safe places.

Who is Andriy Parubiy
Andriy Parubiy was born on January 31, 1971 in Chervonograd (now Sheptytskyi), Lviv region. He graduated from the History Department of Lviv University (historian, history teacher) and postgraduate studies at Lviv Polytechnic (political science and sociology).
Parubiy started his political career in Lviv, was a deputy of the city and regional councils. From 2007 to 2012 - People's Deputy of Ukraine of the VI convocation from the bloc "Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense". In February 2012, he left the Nasha Ukraina party and later joined the Front Zmin party.
From 2012 to 2014 - People's Deputy of Ukraine of the VII convocation from Batkivshchyna.
He was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity, was the de facto commandant and head of the Euromaidan tent city and head of the Maidan Self-Defense units.
In March 2014, Parubiy was appointed as the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. In the extraordinary elections to the Rada in 2014, he was elected as a people's deputy of Ukraine on the party list from the People's Front.
In December of the same year, Parubiy was elected first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, and in April 2016 he became chairman of the parliament.
In the elections in 2019, he was elected as a people's deputy of the 9th convocation from the party "European Solidarity".
