Ursula Von Der Leyen Visits Riga Drone Factory

The European Commission president expressed support for EU countries close to the Russian border.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen began her visit to the Baltic States and Finland with a trip to Origin Robotics' Riga drone factory.

The company produces drones, advanced weapon systems and counter-drone technology, reports err.ee.

With her visit, von der Leyen emphasized support for EU countries close to the border between Russia and the Republic of Belarus. The European Commission president will arrive in Estonia on Saturday.

"Putin is a predator. His proxy structures have been attacking our societies for years with hybrid methods and cyberattacks. For example, using migrants as weapons. Unfortunately, Latvia knows this all too well. Therefore, while strengthening Ukraine's defense, we must also take care of our own defense," the European Commission president said.
