Using cheap drones and hidden Russian mines.
The Ukrainian military has reported a successful operation to destroy two key bridges in Russia's Belgorod region. To do so, they used drones costing about $600 and enemy mines that were hidden under infrastructure facilities, writes CNN.
According to the 58th Independent Motorized Infantry Brigade, the bridges were of strategic importance to the Russian army - they were used to ferry ammunition and reinforcements. The facilities were mined by the Russian military so that they could be blown up in the event of a Ukrainian offensive.
Ukrainian reconnaissance drones discovered caches of anti-tank mines. The fighters then launched a precision strike using tactical FPV drones. Published footage shows powerful explosions that destroyed both bridges.

"We saw the mines and struck. Then we checked the other bridge - it was also mined. We used this opportunity," said a representative of the brigade.
Effective tactics
The cost of the applied drones was from 25 to 30 thousand hryvnias. By comparison, blowing up bridges usually requires the use of expensive precision systems such as HIMARS, where just one missile costs tens of thousands of dollars.
The operation was thus an example of the effective use of cheap technology against a much more expensive enemy arsenal.
