How the GUR is applying artificial intelligence on the battlefield.
The head of the Defense Ministry's GUR Kirill Budanov told how Ukrainian intelligence uses artificial intelligence in its activities. AI technologies in the work of the intelligence service are most often used to process large arrays of data.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Budanov's statement at the forum "Information Warfare: from resistance to sustainability".
"We use artificial intelligence mainly in the context of processing large arrays of information. It's about working with databases, millions of gigabytes of this information, and you can just not find what you need. Artificial intelligence copes with this issue more or less," Budanov said.
As for the use of AI in weapons systems, according to the head of the GSD, he does not yet see "serious progress" as many imagine.
"I believe that it will be, but so far there is none. What about the individual elements that are being applied to drones - homing, etc. - Yes, but it is far from what everyone thinks," Budanov noted.
He expressed his belief that the situation will change within the next decade.
"I believe that in the next 10 years we will see a real combat robot. But it won't be today-tomorrow," the GSD chief added.
