The U.S. Has Given Ukraine Deeper Strike Capabilities For The Offensive

It's part of Washington's strategy.

The United States is providing Ukraine with weapons that allow it to strike more distant targets on Russian territory.

The U.S. ambassador to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, said this in an interview with Fox News.

The diplomat said Trump's strategy is completely different from that of former President Joe Biden's administration on three key factors.

First, the ambassador noted, the U.S. weapons now being used on the frontlines in Ukraine are not paid for by U.S. taxpayers.

Secondly, he said, the US is negotiating with Russia, which did not happen under the Biden administration.

"And finally, we are providing (Ukraine. - ed.) opportunities for strikes against more distant targets on Russian territory," Whitaker noted.

He noted that Donald Trump has created a very different situation than under Biden, as he forced Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table.

The U.S. ambassador to NATO said that this dialog is not yet complete, but "the sides are still having these talks, exchanging prisoners, there is a lot of good news."

"We all want this war to end. It's not Donald Trump's war, but he certainly wants the killing to stop. He wants the strikes on Ukrainian cities to stop. He wants the killing and the deaths to stop," Whitaker emphasized.
