The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak met with the special representative of the US President Steve Whitkoff in New York.

"The main priority is to promote real diplomacy and ensure the implementation of all agreements reached at the Washington summit. We are coordinating our efforts," Yermak said.

At the beginning of the meeting, he said, he informed the US presidential special envoy about the war crimes that Russia is committing against peaceful cities in Ukraine. In particular, he spoke about the strike on Kiev, which killed 23 people, including four children.

Yermak drew attention to the fact that the Russian Federation is not doing the things necessary to end the war and is dragging out the hostilities. He assured that Ukraine supports the desire of US President Donald Trump and all partners to achieve a just peace as soon as possible, and welcomes all US peace initiatives. But Russia blocks all this.

"We are open for direct talks at the level of leaders and are ready to discuss the widest range of issues. We believe that global pressure is needed so that Russia is really ready to move toward peace and, in particular, to hold critical meetings of leaders for this purpose," he added.
