Israel Eliminated The Prime Minister Of The Houthis
Ahmed al-Rahawi

The Israeli Air Force swooped down on Ansar Allah's military and government top brass.

The Israeli Air Force in a large-scale airstrike on the Yemeni capital Sana'a killed the Prime Minister of the Yemeni Houthi government (Ansar Allah movement) Ahmed al-Rahawi. This was reported by local publication Aden Al-Ghad with reference to informed sources.

According to the published data, al-Rahawi was killed on Thursday, August 28, during a government meeting. According to preliminary information, with him were Defense Minister Muhammad Nasser al-Attafi and Chief of General Staff Muhammad al-Gamari, who was seriously wounded.

The Israeli publication Ynet, close to military circles, claims that the operation resulted in the "elimination of the entire military and government elite of the Houthis." An official statement from the Israel Defense Forces confirmed the strike on a "military target of the terrorist regime" in Sanaa, but did not elaborate on the details.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz used biblical rhetoric in his statement: "As we warned the Houthis in Yemen, after darkness comes the execution of the firstborn." He added that "if anyone raises a hand against Israel, that hand will be cut off."

Ahmed al-Rahawi has served as prime minister of the Houthi administration since August 2024. As Yemeni publications point out, his role was predominantly administrative, unlike the movement's military and political leaders. There has been no official confirmation of the Prime Minister's death yet.
