Employees of "BelFA", which is being liquidated in Zhlobin, gave an emotional account of the situation.
Employees of JSC "Belfa", a large enterprise that is being liquidated in Zhlobin, are speaking out en masse in social networks about the closure of the factory. "Flagstick", which previously reported on the liquidation of the enterprise, collected the most informative comments.
Official information about the closure of JSC "Belfa" has not yet appeared, state resources remain silent. But, according to one of the employees, the liquidation procedure is underway, "it seems that on November 4, the factory will not work at all.
At a meeting with the staff, it was announced that "the company is unprofitable, indebted, so it should be liquidated," writes another employee.
"What will happen in place of the factory, no one knows, people were sent to two-thirds of their salaries in August, and then at their own expense, people were offered to look for work," says a user of social network.
She says that "people are almost all before retirement," so the woman worries that a new job will be extremely difficult to find.
Another worker claims that recently "the factory received a large order and purchased all the raw materials, and the benefactor concern all ... and now they help to sell the raw materials."
Workers note that the company had many orders, including for fur for shoes, and the closure of the factory will affect the work of other manufacturers:
"Soon they will start to remember our factory, when many enterprises without our fur will start to die. All our shoe factories and all those who work with fur will start to subside, looking for new suppliers in Russia and China. Let's see what the price of fur will be and what quality will be. There is one enterprise in Europe, and that will be liquidated!"
Another user stated that "a year ago, Russians came and bought sheepskin fur with 30 to 80% natural fur content for pennies, sewed blankets and sold them for mad money".
In Belarus, the Zhlobin factory is well known thanks to the fur for toys, which it produced. Locals would buy the fur, sew the toys and sell them en masse at the train station in front of passing trains. As one commentator believes, "the collapse started the moment they banned selling toys in front of trains, then the tax authorities started to choke." Because of this, people stopped buying fur for toys.
Some residents of Zhlobin write that many premises of JSC "BelFA" have already been bought by a local furniture factory and will open their production there.
Interestingly, back in 2019 it was reported about the successful work of the enterprise. Then only for the first quarter of the year was shipped products abroad for 900.3 thousand dollars, which was 14.7% more than for the same period of the previous year.
And already in 2024 there was information about the debt on loans of JSC "BelFA". Then it was specified that, according to the decree of the Council of Ministers, these debts should be purchased by the Agency for Asset Management.
