Russia Hits Turkish Bayraktar Plant Near Kiev

This is the fourth attack on the plant in the last six months.
On the night of August 28, Russian troops attacked the Bayraktar drone factory under construction in the Kiev region. This was reported by Clash Report, without disclosing the sources of information. Later, the data about the strike was confirmed by Lviv City Council deputy Igor Zinkevich in his Telegram channel and Turkish edition Türkiye Gazetesi, which also did not specify the origin of the information.
According to Clash Report and Zinkevich, the enterprise suffered "serious damage." They noted that this was the fourth attack on the plant in the past six months. Türkiye Gazetesi writes that the strike resulted in "millions of dollars in lost investment."
The Bayraktar plant is being built in the Kiev region near the capital. The exact location is not named in public sources. Construction began in February 2024 by the Turkish company Baykar. Initially it was supposed to complete the project in 12 months. According to plans, the facility was to produce about 120 drones per year. According to Clash Report and Türkiye Gazetesi, construction was nearing completion at the time of the attack and staff had already been trained.
The strikes on the factory were part of a large-scale Russian attack on the Kiev region the same night. According to Ukrainian authorities, the city was bombarded by attack drones, cruise and ballistic missiles. As a result, at least 18 people were killed, including four children. At least 38 more civilians were injured, including ten children, and ten people are missing.
Destruction was recorded in several districts of the capital. In particular, in Darnytskyi district a missile hit a five-storey residential building, completely destroying one of the entrances. People continue to remain under the rubble.
