Russian Drones Were Spotted Over The Gomel Region

A fighter jet was sent to intercept them.

Around 20:00 on August 27, a drone flew over Rechytsa at a low altitude, matching the silhouette of the Russian UAV "Gerber". Later, at 20:15, local residents heard the hum of an airplane, which turned out to be a Belarusian fighter jet sent to destroy the drone, writes "Flagstaff".

The same evening, the drone flew over Mozyr, where a characteristic sound resembling that of a moped was heard in different parts of the city. Ukrainian monitoring channels did not report any Russian UAVs crossing the Belarusian border at the time. This may indicate that the Gomel region was invaded by Gerbera imitation drones, which are poorly detected by radars.

In addition, two Russian missiles may have flown over the territory of Belarus during the air attack on the night of August 28. In the first case, the missile may have flown over a ledge in Bragin district.

In the second case, two missiles over Gomel, Ukrainian monitoring channel eRadar told Flagpole. The flight was recorded around 3 a.m. However, other channels did not report such a fact, there was also no information from residents of the Gomel district about recording the sound of the flight.

According to the official information of the AFU Air Force, this night Russia attacked Ukraine including Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles fired from the Bryansk region. It is likely that they may have been the ones that flew over Gomel.

The main strike was directed at Kiev, where 15 civilians have already been reported dead, including four children. The missiles hit residential buildings and caused widespread destruction, debris removal continues. The number of casualties due to the attack on Kiev's civilian infrastructure has already exceeded 50 people.
