Ukrainian Pravda Office Damaged In Russian Strike On Kiev

Details of the attack on the Ukrainian capital.

According to Ukrainska Pravda, Russian troops carried out a massive combined attack on the capital on the night of August 28. As a result of the strike, the business center where the newspaper's office is located was damaged.

An official confirmation of the scale of the damage and the condition of the building is expected now. The editorial office noted that despite the incident, the work of the publication continues in normal mode.

The Russian night attack on Kiev damaged not only the office of Ukrayinska Pravda, but also buildings of international organizations, residential buildings and catering establishments.

According to a Facebook post by the British Council in Ukraine, the organization's office suffered significant damage and will remain closed to visitors until further notice. Despite possible delays in response, the British Council emphasized that it continues to work with Ukrainian partners in the fields of education and culture. Representatives of the institution can now be contacted by email.

According to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's social media accounts, during the shelling Russia hit diplomatic missions, which is a direct violation of the Vienna Convention. The EU Mission in Ukraine was also damaged. The Foreign Ministry emphasized that this requires condemnation not only from the European Union, but also from the whole world, and expressed readiness to provide the necessary assistance to colleagues.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said that Russia killed at least 8 people, among them a child, and also struck civilian infrastructure. He emphasized that there may still be people under the rubble of destroyed houses in Kiev.

"This horrific sight proves that Putin will only stop under pressure and force. We call for public condemnation and concrete action: new sanctions against Russia and increased support for Ukraine," Sibiga said.

He added that the international community must respond decisively to Russia's brutal strike on Kiev and other Ukrainian cities.

In addition, catering establishments were also damaged. As the co-owner of the cafe chain Stas Zavertaylo reported on his Instagram, the Honey pastry shop on Zhilyanskaya Street was partially destroyed.

"Russian missiles hit nearby, destroying apartment buildings, offices and our new establishment. It is very difficult for me as an entrepreneur to write these lines, this place is not even a year old yet, but we have invested more than a decade of experience, huge resources and most importantly our soul. The biggest reward for us has always been your smiles when you come to us," he wrote.

Stas Zavertaylo added that these photos should be seen in the world as proof of the consequences of the Russian war, which is trying to take away from the country even the right to simple joys. He called on the international community to help Ukraine and emphasized that the main source of freedom and independence remains the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for which donations should be directed.
