Ukraine Attacked Railroad Hubs In Two Russian Regions

Thirty-eight trains have been delayed.

On the night of August 23, Ukrainian drones hit two railway infrastructure facilities in southern Russia. In the Rostov region, for the second time in a week, the AFU attacked the Rossosh - Sokhranovka section, this time the Sergeyevka station suffered from "UAV drops," the Russian Railways said. The work of the contact network there was "disrupted." As a consequence of the raid, the movement of 38 trains was delayed (up to 3 hours and 40 minutes), the report said.

According to Rostov Governor Yury Slyusar, Ukrainian UAVs were shot down in Chertkovsky (Sohranovka is located there), Sholokhovsky and Millerovsky districts. "Due to the fall of drone fragments, fires broke out in several places, which were promptly extinguished. None of the people were injured," the head of the region wrote in his Telegram channel.

The Volgograd region also came under the AFU strikes last night. In the town of Petrov Val (Kamyshinsky district), a raid caused a fire at a jewelry store opposite the local railway station, local residents told Astra. According to them, glass was broken out in the windows of residential buildings. It is not yet clear whether the railroad infrastructure was damaged after the attack. The strike on the station is also reported by the channel "VCHK-OGPU". "Crimean Wind" specifies that "Petrov Val" is a hub station of the Volga Railroad with 18 tracks, where the locomotive depot of the same name is located.
