The rector of the Red Church noted that he was sent on an "undeserved vacation."
The longtime rector of the third-year closed Red Church in Minsk, one of the most famous and honored priests of Belarus, priest Psendz Vladislav Zavalniuk, who was retired and resigned from this position a year ago, spoke publicly about his dismissal for the first time, writes Katolik.life.
It was previously reported from the words of the faithful that the priest did not submit a petition for retirement as officially announced.
Priest Zavalniuk has now confirmed this in his video, which he dedicated to the topic of retirement life as his own and everyone's.
The priest noted that he was sent to an "undeserved retirement," and then continued:
"I was sent to retirement by order from above [while pointing down], but not by the Pope [of Rome]. They suspended me, excommunicated me from the altar, from the sacrifice of the holy Mass, from the Church, from the pastorate - understand, from the people."
The priest emphasized that all hope is in God, "everything will be corrected, I trust God."
After that, the priest decided that since he was "suspended from God's altar, the sacrifice of the holy Mass, it is necessary to proclaim the Word of God." So he started his YouTube channel "Voice of the Soul", which now has nearly 3,000 subscribers.
The priest shows himself to be a strong preacher in his videos, and participates in the celebration of Holy Masses in parishes that invite him to join them.
Priest Adam Stankiewicz, a priest repressed under the USSR who published the prayer book "Voice of the Soul," and the shot rector of the Red Church, Fr. Wincent Godlewski, who wrote the preface to the second edition of the prayer book.
