US President Donald Trump and European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen have agreed to work together on the return of abducted children, including Ukrainian children. The parties agreed to coordinate efforts to protect children's rights and facilitate their return to their families.

The American leader noted that returning children to their families is a global priority.

"This is also an important topic for my wife Melania. This issue is at the top of every list and the world will work together to solve this problem and hopefully return children to their families," Trump wrote in Truth Social.

Fon der Leyen confirmed the agreement with the American leader and emphasized that special attention should be paid to Ukrainian children illegally removed by Russia.

"This means that every Ukrainian child abducted by Russia must be returned to their family. I thank the President of the United States for his clear commitment today to ensure that these children are reunited with their loved ones," her message to X reads.
