Businessman Who Escaped From Ukraine Used The Services Of Lukashenko's Wallet Bank
Piotr Dyminski

What binds Piotr Dyminski and Belarus.

Ukrainian businessman Peter Dyminsky, who is hiding from prosecution in his home country, had business interests in Belarus, revealed journalists of the Belarusian Investigative Center. He used local banks for multimillion-dollar deals, including with a partner of Vladimir Putin's cousin and an arms trading company.

Dyminsky owned a stake in the WOG gas station chain and the ZIK TV channel. He fled Ukraine in 2017 after he was involved in a traffic accident in the Lviv region. After fleeing arrest to Europe, the Ukrainian continued to actively conduct business.

In 2019, Dymynskyi sold the ZIK TV channel he owned to pro-Russian MP Taras Kozak - a close associate of Putin's crony Viktor Medvedchuk. In 2021, the Ukrainian authorities blocked the channel's broadcasting.

According to documents from Dyminskiy's Cyprus-based company Ablemark Limited, the amount of the deal to sell the TV channel was $27.5 million. In the leaked Cyprus Confidential data, journalists found that the transfer went through the Belarusian CJSC Absolutbank. It was then owned by a businessman, Lukashenko's wallet Nikolai Vorobey - a figure in the sanctions lists, which journalists call a partner of Viktor Medvedchuk.

The proceeds Ablemark Limited used to issue multimillion-dollar loans to various firms. One of the borrowers was Jikinto Limited, which received an interest-free loan of at least 2.6 million euros in February 2020. A month later, the Serbian Ministry of Trade gave the company permission to export arms from Serbia. That same year, Jikinto Limited delivered weapons from state-owned Serbian factories to the Ugandan Ministry of Defense for a total of about $10 million.

When Jikinto Limited was repaying part of the loan, the transfer was made through another Belarusian bank, JSC Bank BelVEB.

The Belarusian footprint in Dyminski's history was not only evident through the banks involved in settlements with arms trading companies. Through Ablemark Limited he negotiated the purchase of the Belarusian CJSC "BTA Bank", journalists found in the Cyprus Confidential data leak. The deal did not take place: in June 2024, BTA Bank was bought by SNRG Capital Eurasia LLP, to which Dyminsky had nothing to do.
