The main points have become known.
Ukraine will pledge to buy $100 billion worth of US weapons funded by Europe. The Ukrainian side is offering the deal in order to get security guarantees from the U.S.
The Financial Times reports.
The publication has read Ukraine's proposals and conditions, which were presented at the White House during the talks.
According to the document, Ukraine will promise to buy $100 billion worth of European-funded U.S. weapons as part of an agreement to obtain security guarantees from the United States.
Also, Ukraine and the United States may enter into a $50 billion agreement to produce drones with Ukrainian companies.
The document does not specify what kind of weapons they are talking about. But it is known that Ukraine has expressed a desire to buy at least 10 Patriot air defense systems, as well as other missiles and equipment. The document does not specify which part of the drone deal will be purchases or investments.
The FT reports that according to the document:
Ukraine will not agree to any agreement, including territorial concessions to Russia, and insists on a ceasefire.
Ukraine rejects Russia's offer to freeze the rest of the front line if Ukrainian troops withdraw from partially occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions. It is noted that this would create "a bridgehead for further and rapid advance of Russian troops towards the city of Dnipro."
The Ukrainian side insists on full compensation from Russia for losses that could potentially be paid from $300 billion of Russian sovereign assets frozen in Western countries.
Any easing of sanctions should only be on the condition that Russia adheres to a future peace agreement and "plays fair."
