Trump: We'll Know In A Week Or Two Whether The War Will End Or Not

The US president said this during a meeting with EU leaders.

US President Donald Trump said that within a week or two it will become clear whether the war will end or the fighting will continue. He said this on Monday, August 18, during a meeting with EU leaders.

"I think President Putin wants to find an answer, and we'll see. And if after a certain time, not very far from today, a week or two, we will know if we will solve this problem or if these terrible fights will continue further. We're going to do everything we can to put an end to it," Trump said.

He emphasized that there are two sides "that want to make an agreement."

"And it's possible that it won't succeed. On the other hand, it's possible that it will succeed. And we will save thousands and thousands of lives every week. So that's what we really have to do. Or at least we have to make the effort. But I think we can get a very good result," Trump emphasized.
