Zelensky: It's A Historic Decision

The Ukrainian president welcomed the readiness of the USA to participate in security guarantees.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky called a "historic decision" the United States' willingness to take part in security guarantees for Ukraine, and described what he believes these guarantees should be.

"It is a historic decision that the United States is willing to take part in security guarantees for Ukraine. Security guarantees based on the results of our work together should be really very practical and give protection on the ground, in the sky and at sea, and should be developed with the participation of Europe," Zelensky said in a statement following talks with the leaders of the "coalition of the resolute."

The Ukrainian president also noted that all participants in the talks agree that the borders of states should not be changed by force and that key issues should be resolved with Ukraine's participation in a trilateral format: Ukraine, the United States, the Russian leader.
