The AFU Knocked Out The Occupants In Several Areas Of The Frontline

Defense forces are fighting back the enemy and have had some successes in some areas, despite Russian attempts to occupy more of Ukraine.

The ISW analysts report that localized fighting continued in Kursk Oblast on August 16. Despite continued attacks, Russian forces failed to advance. Meanwhile, Russian "war correspondents" claim that Ukrainian forces are also carrying out counterattacks in the region.

In the north of Sumy region, the enemy tried to advance on the same day, but to no avail. According to researchers, on August 15-16, Russian troops attacked near Novokonstantinovka, Varachino and Yunakovka, but no changes were recorded on the front line.

In Kharkivshchina, Russian troops continue to attack and attempt to advance, but to no avail. According to ISW, the occupiers are operating in small infantry groups, sometimes using motorcycles for quick movement, but their actions look chaotic and no advance has been recorded.

The enemy has also tried to advance in the Kupyansk and Limansk directions. Despite statements by Russian "war correspondents" about alleged successes, analysts at the Institute for the Study of War have no confirmation of this.

But the advance of Russian troops in the Seversk direction has been confirmed. At the same time, their attacks near Chasovy Yar and Toretsk ended unsuccessfully.

Ukrainian forces instead had successes in the Pokrovsky direction. The AFU probably cleared several settlements near Dobropillya and knocked out the enemy from the Veseloye and Gruzskoye areas. The General Staff also confirmed the liberation of Rubizhne, Novovodyanoye, Petrovka and Zolotoy Kolodezya.

In addition, in the Velikomikhailivskyi direction, the Ukrainian military pushed back the Russians from the Andreevka-Klevtsovo area.

At the same time, the enemy continued to attempt an offensive in the Novopavlivskyi direction, but without success.

Similar situation in the South: attacks near Gulyaypol in Zaporozhye region, as well as in the direction of Kherson - near the Antonov bridges and Belogrudiy Island - ended in failure for the Russian forces.
