Trump Wants A Meeting With Putin And Zelensky As Early As Aug. 22

The American president said this to his Ukrainian counterpart.

US President Donald Trump has said he wants to hold a trilateral summit with Ukraine's leader Vladimir Zelensky and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin as soon as a week after talks in Alaska. About it writes Axios with reference to two interlocutors.

According to them, during a phone conversation with Zelensky and partners, Trump said he wanted to hold such a meeting quickly, as early as August 22.

The Russian dictator has not publicly confirmed his participation in the meeting with Zelensky and Trump. The Ukrainian president said on August 12, before the Alaska summit, that there would be talks in the trilateral format, but he does not yet know the date.
