Smoke Was Detected Near Zaporizhzhya NPP

Smoke has been recorded in the area of the cargo port of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. The exact location of the fire and possible consequences are being clarified, the press service of the Ukrainian Energy Ministry said.

The ministry said that the port was located outside the perimeter of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. The Ukrainian Energy Ministry recalled that the constant deployment by the aggressor country of equipment and its soldiers on the territory of the plant and continuous psychological pressure on the NPP personnel is a gross violation of nuclear safety principles.

They warned that any provocative actions at this nuclear power plant could lead to catastrophic consequences for the entire continent.

Two days ago, Russian troops damaged the External Crisis Center of the Zaporizhzhya NPP. Russia continues to use the plant as a "nuclear shield" to cover shelling of Ukrainian territory.
