The leaders of Britain and France will work with US President Donald Trump as he prepares to meet Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Alaska.

It is noted that on Saturday, August 9, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer had a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The leaders discussed the latest developments in Ukraine and reaffirmed their unwavering support for President Vladimir Zelensky and efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace for the Ukrainian people.
In particular, Starmer and Macron "welcomed President Trump's efforts to stop the killings in Ukraine and end Russia's military aggression."
"The leaders also discussed continuing to work closely with Presidents Trump and Zelensky in the coming days. The two sides agreed to remain in close contact," the British prime minister's office said in a statement.
