GSD: Kremlin Tries To Draw Another Asian Country Into War Against Ukraine

The military-political leadership of the Russian Federation continues to look for opportunities to continue the aggressive war against Ukraine. Another country that Russia is trying to drag into the war is Laos.

This is reported by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's GUR.

It is noted that the Kremlin is working on the possibility of dragging so-called partners into the war under the guise of implementing humanitarian projects in Russian regions bordering Ukraine. In particular, it is known that the Kremlin is now organizing the involvement of a combined detachment of engineering troops of the Lao People's Army to demine the territories of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

"Given the significant dependence on external assistance, the Lao leadership at the initial stage expresses its readiness to send up to 50 'military sappers' to Russia and contribute to the demining of the Kursk region," the report says.

In addition, Laos provides gratuitous assistance to the Russian Federation by conducting rehabilitation activities for wounded Russian servicemen who took part in hostilities against Ukraine.

"Russia, hiding behind humanitarian rhetoric, is trying to legalize the presence of a foreign military contingent on its territory, in fact using it to ensure hostilities against Ukraine," the Defense Ministry's GSD noted.
