Meloni Talked To Trump About Weapons For Ukraine

Italy's prime minister hopes for positive developments.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said Friday that she discussed with Donald Trump the issue of U.S. arms supplies to Ukraine.

She said this at an economic event Forum in Masseria, European Truth reported.

Meloni stressed that the US "has not stopped supplying arms and support to Ukraine," but only "reconsidered its decision to supply certain components, in particular air defense."

"And this is undoubtedly an important fact, which is quite different from the complete withdrawal of the United States," she said.

The Italian prime minister added that she had seen news reports about a conversation between Trump and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

"I myself also spoke today (Friday. - Ed.) with President Donald Trump, with whom I discussed this issue, the issue we just discussed, and I hope for positive developments, shall we say, in this matter," Meloni said.

Remember, in the afternoon of July 4, there was a telephone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Trump allegedly said that he wants to help Ukraine with air defense and will check what aid has been suspended.

Zelensky publicly said that with the American president discussed the situation on the front, supplies of air defense equipment, as well as joint defense production.
