A Belarusian drowned on the lake, having gone to get water lilies for his wife.

In Klimovichi district, a man drowned in the lake, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

The tragedy occurred in the agro-town of Timonovo on the local lake. The Emergencies Ministry received a call from eyewitnesses who reported the drowning of a 48-year-old man. It turned out that the villager went to the lake to pick water lilies for his wife. However, having dived for water lilies, he never came out again.

The drowned man was found 10 meters from the shore. EMERCOM workers extracted the dead man from the water. It is specified that the place where the tragedy occurred, was not equipped for swimming. The width of the lake in the place of the incident is up to 100 meters, and the depth - up to 3 meters.
