Ukraine's Defense Forces Repelled The Largest Attack By Russian Drones And Missiles Since The Start Of The War

In the AFU revealed the details.

On the night of July 4, the Russian Federation carried out the largest air attack on Ukrainian territory since the beginning of the full-scale war.

The Russian army used more than 500 drones and missiles, betting on a strike on the capital. The AFU's sky defenses held back the onslaught - the vast majority of targets were destroyed, the AFU reported.

From 18:00 on July 3 and throughout the night, Russia attacked Ukraine with several weapons at once. 550 aerial attack vehicles were launched, of which over 330 were Shahed attack drones.

The attack was conducted from the territory of Kursk, Bryansk, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Rostov regions and Krasnodar Krai.

The main direction of the strike was again Kiev - the capital and its suburbs were subjected to massive shelling.

The Russian army also used: - 1 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile; - 6 Iskander-M ballistic missiles; - 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles.

The air defense and electronic warfare forces destroyed or suppressed 478 targets:

- 268 of them were shot down by fire attack means;

- another 208 were locally suppressed by means of electronic warfare;

- 2 Iskander-K missiles were shot down.

- not all targets were intercepted:

- direct hits were recorded in 8 locations - 9 missiles and 63 drones;

- debris from downed aerial objects fell in 33 locations.

The air defense forces, aviation, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces acted coherently and effectively.

Despite the unprecedented scale of the attack, catastrophic consequences were averted. The Russian Federation continues to use terrorizing civilians as its main instrument of pressure.
