Experts have voiced the Kremlin's plans.
At a time when Trump has decided to suspend military aid to Kiev, Putin has decided to ramp up not only ground military operations but also strikes on Ukrainian cities. Yesterday in a phone call with Trump, the Russian president made it clear that he will not back down until he achieves all of his goals. He is prepared to do so both militarily and diplomatically, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Putin's goal is to increase pressure on both the Ukrainian armed forces and civilians to break Ukraine. All of Trump's efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine have stalled, and Putin is only intensifying his attacks.
The recent events only strengthen Putin's belief that the West will sooner or later withdraw its military support for Ukraine. The AFU will have to save ammunition, and as a result, Putin's army will continue to advance in Ukraine.
Analysts assure that Putin's main goal now is not to capture all of Ukraine, but to "grind" as many troops and equipment as possible. At the same time, he wants to undermine support for Kiev from both the West and his own population, which is why Putin has decided to increase the number of strikes on Kiev and other Ukrainian cities in order to psychologically pressure Ukrainians.
