Poland's President-elect And Zielenski Had Their First Conversation

Polish President-elect Karol Nawrocki and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zielenski had their first telephone conversation.
The conversation was announced in his X by Nawrocki's spokesman Rafal Leszkiewicz.
The spokesman said the conversation took place at the initiative of Zielenski, who congratulated Karol Nawrocki on his victory in the presidential election.
"Karol Nawrocki emphasized that cooperation between the two countries should be based on mutual respect and sincere partnership ... Russia is a neo-imperialist, colonial state under the leadership of war criminal Vladimir Putin. Therefore, Ukraine, which is fighting against the Kremlin regime, can count on Poland's support," his statement said.
One of the central topics of the conversation was historical politics.
"Karol Nawrocki emphasized that he is the voice of the people, which demands a change in Ukraine's approach to important and still unresolved historical issues. This must change. The president-elect said that historical issues will be the topics of further conversations with the president of Ukraine," the speaker said.
Zelensky, for his part, has not yet reported on the conversation.
Before that, Zelensky congratulated Navrotsky on his election victory in a public post in early June. Navrotsky responded by expressing his hope to continue a close partnership with Ukraine and emphasized the importance of resolving complex historical issues.
The inauguration of Karol Navrotsky, who is supported by the opposition Law and Justice, is scheduled for August 6.
