Ukraine Imposes Sanctions Against Russia's "shadow Fleet"

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has signed a law on imposing sanctions on ships that transport, in particular, Russian oil and oil products.

The relevant information is contained on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

The law signed by Volodymyr Zelensky provides for the imposition of sanctions on sea and air vessels that transport oil and oil products, transport weapons and military personnel.

The document amends the Law of Ukraine "On Sanctions" on the application of sanctions to ships and aircraft whose activities create real and potential threats to the national interests, national security, territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

The Security Service of Ukraine and intelligence is tasked with establishing the facts of the use of such vessels. And the State Register of Sanctions should include information about all entities, as well as vessels and aircrafts, against which sanctions have been applied.
