What Changes Await Belarusians In August?

Many of them will affect our wallets.
Some people will have their payments increased, while others will have to pay extra. Meanwhile, the admission campaign will end in educational institutions. These and other changes - in the review "Belsat".
Allowances
Aug. 1, benefits for child care for children under the age of three will increase by 8.2%. For the first child it will amount to 931.91 rubles, for the second and subsequent children - 1065.04, for a disabled child - 1198.17.
The minimum subsistence budget will be revised on August 1. At the same time, a number of social payments tied to the BPL will increase, such as minimum labor pensions, pension supplements and social pensions, as well as benefits for caring for the disabled. Since May 1, the BPM per capita average is 462.58 rubles, and after the increase will be 487.72 rubles.
The ERIP personal accounts may disappear
The users of personal accounts in ERIP will face changes. If those who registered before October 1, 2024, have not accepted the new terms and conditions of the service in their personal accounts by August 1, their accounts will be deleted along with all the information in them. Further use of the service will require re-registration. However, the changes apply only to the personal account and do not affect payments. Users registered after October 1, 2024 do not need to do anything additional.
Entry to schools, colleges and universities
August 15 schools and gymnasiums finish accepting documents from parents of future first-graders living in the territory of the neighborhoods attached to them. In the same terms you can apply for free places for children who do not live in the neighborhood. The rest of the documents, in case the decision on enrollment is made, they need to submit from August 16 to August 28.
August 17 will end the admission of documents to the 10th grades of schools and gymnasiums.
Colleges until August 1 accept documents from graduates of 9th grades at the level of secondary special education, for paid places - until August 6. Graduates of 11th grades can submit documents for budget until August 12, for paid form - until August 14. Ninth-graders who will take entrance exams, documents must be brought to August 1, eleventh-graders - until August 6. For graduates of 9th grades entrance tests will be held from August 2 to 7, 11 - from August 7 to 10. The first category of applicants for budgetary places will be enrolled until August 5, for paid - until August 15, the second - until August 9 and 17, respectively.
The acceptance of documents for paid form of education in the university will end on August 1. Enrollment of fee-paying students will end on August 3.
In addition, August 18 and 20 are reserved days for the centralized examination.
School readiness
Passports of readiness of general secondary education institutions for the beginning of the school year should be approved no later than August 20. In the new school year, 2627 state institutions of general secondary education will operate in Belarus, where about 1.05 million students will start classes.
Changes in the work of banks
Belarusbank will introduce limits for withdrawing money using digital details of cards (tokens generated in mobile payment services) from August 4. It will be possible to withdraw no more than Br600 per day from "Velvet" cards, while from other cards - no more than Br1,000. Also from August 4, "Zebra" cards, "student card" and cards under the product "Children's" will not pass payments to gambling and lotteries.
"MTBank" will stop USSD-banking, as well as from August 15 will change the amount of commission for cashless crediting of money to the account in the currency to which the card is linked. It will increase from 2% to 3% of the amount (but not less than Br5).
Bank BelVEB will return the commission fee for maintenance of "Belkart Premium" cards, which are issued outside the package of services, from August 1. The commission will amount to Br1.5.
Bank Dabrabyt will start offering non-residents Belkart cards in rubles for five years from August 1.
Changes from mobile operators
MTS will raise the cost of certain services - roaming, international calls, as well as a number of additional services - for individuals and organizations from August 1. Both individuals and organization will be affected. A1 will do it from August 5. And life:) will have a vending machine for remote SIM-cards in Minsk subway.
Replacement of Eurobonds
Aug. 21 and 28, August 21 and 28, Belarus' Eurobonds with maturity on February 24, 2026 (Belarus-2026), February 24, 2031 (Belarus-2031) and February 28, 2030 (Belarus-2030) will be replaced by local government bonds. Only those owners of Eurobonds, who purchased them before July 26, 2024 and ensure their blocking on the accounts of the Ministry of Finance of Belarus, can make the replacement.
Cigarettes will go up in price
Prices for some brands of cigarettes will change on August 1. Thus, the price for a pack of "NZ Charm Red" and "NZ Charm Brown" will decrease by 5 kopecks - to 4.95 rubles. And "Crown Elite" will rise in price by 15 kopecks, "Crown Super Slims" - by 35 kopecks. They will cost 4 rubles per pack.
New accounting of importation of cars
Since August 9, new rules of importation of cars for legal entities will come into force. Cars with an internal combustion engine imported in batches of more than 150 pieces will have to get approval of the vehicle type, which costs 100-150 thousand rubles. The changes do not affect vehicles imported by individuals for personal use.
Changes in social insurance and pension provision
Since August 17, innovations in social insurance and pension provision will come into force.
A differentiated procedure of payment of contributions to the Federal Social Insurance Fund will be applied for individual entrepreneurs, which will depend on the income received. For employers who pay salaries in envelopes, liability will be toughened, and the recipients of such payments will be deprived of some social guarantees. Payers of tax on professional income will have the right to voluntarily pay additional contributions to pension insurance.
Changes in the work of transport
Kazakhstan airline SCAT from August 10 will launch a new direct international route Almaty - Minsk - Almaty. Flights will be operated twice a week - on Wednesdays and Sundays.
The schedule of trains on the section Minsk - Osipovichi will change on August 4. The adjustment is caused by the repair of the railway bridge on the second main track of the Pukhovichi - Talka line.
The winter schedule of suburban bus routes will return to Minsk on August 29.
